Lotus Light Launches Rice Donation Campaign to Help Those in Need – Donate Today!

According to the Canada Food Bank’s Annual Hunger Count Report, food bank visits in Canada exceeded 2 million in March 2024, with approximately 30% of food banks running out of supplies. In the Greater Vancouver area, the number of people registered with the local food bank has risen from 6,500 six years ago to over 15,000 today. Those seeking assistance range from young families to seniors on fixed incomes who are struggling to keep up with inflation—including retired teachers and nurses. Support and donations from the community are urgently needed.

In response to this growing crisis, Lotus Light Charity Society has launched a Rice Donation Campaign to support the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.

Since 1993, Lotus Light has been dedicated to poverty relief, having donated more than 400,000 pounds of food to community food banks and organizations. This year’s Rice Donation Campaign aims to raise funds to purchase rice for the food bank before Christmas, bringing much-needed support to individuals and families facing hunger.

We invite compassionate individuals, businesses, and organizations to contribute to this meaningful cause. Every donation helps, and the impact is immeasurable.

  • Cost per bag of rice: CAD $35
  • Tax receipts: Available for donations of $20 or more
