Lotus Light Holds Birthday Celebration Party for Seniors
In late March 2026, Lotus Light Charity Society (Vancouver) launched the Lotus Light Longevity Star – Senior Care Program, creating a warm and supportive environment where seniors in the community can enjoy health, happiness, learning, and friendship.
On April 18, the Lotus Light Longevity Star Senior Club hosted its first birthday celebration party for members whose birthdays fell in April. The gathering brought together more than thirty members and volunteers to celebrate two senior members on their special day.
The event was led by Master Lian Tzi, President of Lotus Light Charity Society, who invited everyone to sing “Happy Birthday” in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese before the birthday cake was cut. Master Lian Tzi also personally presented birthday gifts to the two celebrants. To prepare for the celebration, volunteers from the charity’s community kitchen worked late into the night the day before, preparing a delicious meal for everyone. Members of the Senior Care Committee also specially prepared traditional red eggs, symbols of good fortune and blessings, adding to the festive atmosphere. The entire celebration was warm and joyful, filled with laughter and smiles.
The two birthday celebrants happily shared that it was the first time so many people had gathered to celebrate their birthdays, and they were deeply touched by the experience. According to the volunteer team leader, both seniors had first come to Lotus Light’s Income Tax Clinic, a free tax-filing service for low-income individuals and seniors. After learning about the many activities offered through the Lotus Light Longevity Star Senior Club, they immediately registered as members.
During the event, the emcee also announced that a flower arrangement workshop would be launching the following weekend. The announcement was met with enthusiastic interest from club members, and many participants signed up on the spot.
The Lotus Light Longevity Star Senior Club offers a wide variety of activities throughout the year, including health and wellness programs, spiritual enrichment courses, nutrition and healthy eating workshops, personal fraud prevention seminars, smartphone and digital skills training, birthday celebrations, handicraft and flower arrangement workshops, karaoke gatherings, light exercise and stretching classes, and educational talks on government benefits and practical life skills. The program combines physical activity, lifelong learning, social engagement, and mental stimulation to help seniors enjoy a healthier and more fulfilling life.
Lotus Light Charity Society warmly welcomes the public to join as Lotus Light Longevity Star Senior Club members or volunteers and also welcomes donations to support the Society’s charitable programs and community services.
