Golden Mother Yoga - Beginner Class - 8. Golden Shoe Fairy Walk |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Golden Shoe Fairy Walk This walking exercise can bring you good health and relieve your stress. You will not get tired or get sore legs from the walk. On the contrary, this exercise can restore your energy, rejuvenating you and helping you to feel the inner peace that lies within you. Throughout this exercise, remember to keep your body and spine straight, your head erect and your chin tucked in slightly (your lower jaw should be parallel to the ground). To get the most benefit from the Fairy Walk, you must maintain the proper breathing method and you must tighten your buttock muscles to hold the chi in your dan-tien (the energy center located for finger widths below your navel).
The movements of the hands and feet are light and gentle, like those of a fairy, and also match the movement of chi in you body. As you walk, chant "Om, Jin Mu Siddhi Hum" ("Jin Mu" is "Golden Mother")- "Om" as you step forward with your right foot, continuing the chanting as you move your left foot, and finishing with "Hum" as you plant your left foot on the ground. Repeat the chanting as you practice the Fairy Walk. If you feel fatigued while walking, do the
following : Bring both hands down by your sides, close your four
fingers together (straight, not curled), extend your thumb outward,
and face your palms inward. Then, keeping your arms straight down at
your sides, tilt your hands upwards with your wrists at a 45 degree
angle so your palms face downward. Relax your arms and rotate your
hands/wrists clockwise and counter-clockwise 180 degrees. Continue
to rotate your wrists as you walk. You will soon feel peace and
harmony within yourself as the chi circulates through your body- our
energy will be restored and you will not feel tired any more. Edited by Reverend Lian Deng |
