Golden Lake Seafood Restaurant Sponsored LLCS Hot Meals for Homeless Program
Lotus Light Charity Society had its fourth food distribution event of the year on Saturday, April 16, providing hundreds of homeless and low income individuals with a much needed hot meal. As usual, volunteers distributed the food in the Downtown Eastside’s Oppenheimer Park.
Lotus Light Charity Society Vancouver would like to give a big “Thank You!” to restaurant owner Alan Deng and his Golden Lake Seafood Restaurant (located at 3555 East Hastings Street, Vancouver), for sponsoring the April Hot Meals for Homeless Event!
Each month throughout the year, LLCS volunteers distribute much needed hot meals to over two hundred homeless and impoverished individuals in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES) community. However, we rely on the generosity of local restaurants to help make sure this can happen each month.
This past Saturday, LLCS Hot Meal Program attendees had the option of choosing between four different entrées, courtesy of Golden Lake Seafood Restaurant: beef fried rice, pork fried rice, BBQ pork fried rice, and sweet and sour pork fried rice and dim sum. LLCS would like to give a big thank you to Golden Lake Seafood Restaurant and restaurant owner Mr. Alan Deng for their generosity in sponsoring this event! Additionally, there were also breads and pastries sponsored by Trumps Fine Food and Terra Breads Bakery.
