Lotus Light Children Assistance Plan Donates Groceries and Winter Fair Tickets to Vulnerable Students
As the holiday season begins, the Lotus Light Charity Society’s Children Assistance Plan is actively raising funds and in-kind donations to support low-income families in inner-city schools.
On November 28, Grandview Elementary, Seymour Elementary, Britannia Secondary, and Templeton Secondary schools received over 1,000 pounds of grocery donations. These included bagged rice, canned vegetables, soup, cup noodles, and juice. Additionally, Lotus Light presented PNE Winter Fair tickets, sponsored by the TD Youth Accessibility Program, to Britannia Secondary and Templeton Secondary to support vulnerable teens.
“Thank you so much for your donations,” expressed Sadie James, Youth and Family Worker at Britannia Secondary.
“Thank you for helping our school’s low-income family students,” said Donna Mah, Neighbourhood Assistant at Grandview Elementary.
The Lotus Light Children Assistance Plan is a specialized program dedicated to supporting children in low-income families. It provides quarterly grocery donations to assist inner-city school students from disadvantaged backgrounds throughout the year.
Currently, Lotus Light is raising funds to provide gift cards for students from low-income families in inner-city schools. We welcome donations of any amount to support this program. To contribute, please visit our donation page at https://vllcs.org/en/donation-to-llcs/.
