Lotus Light Longevity Star’s April Meals Fill the House with Joy
In the first week of April 2025, the Lotus Light Charity Society (Vancouver) proudly launched the Lotus Light Senior Club – Lotus Light Longevity Star project for the first time. To better serve the elderly community, volunteers from the Lotus Light Charity Kitchen prepared a variety of delicious and nutritious meals throughout the week. The menu included stir-fried pork, beef, chicken, tofu, and a selection of vegetarian dishes.
Several seniors living in local senior housing were picked up daily by volunteers and brought to the clubhouse to enjoy their meals together.
On Saturday, April 5, the Senior Club specially prepared a birthday cake to celebrate seniors with April birthdays. Young and middle-aged volunteers joined in the celebration, sharing laughter, singing, and cake with the elders. It was a heartwarming gathering where the old, middle, and young generations came together, filling the hall with joy and connection.
The “Lotus Light Longevity Star” Senior Club Project is still in its early stages, and many service facilities are currently under development. At present, free hot meals are offered every Saturday at noon at the clubhouse. Looking ahead, the club plans to introduce learning and entertainment activities tailored to seniors, such as Basic English Conversation, Handicrafts, Tea Art, Singing, Movie Screenings, and Health Seminars—all designed to support seniors’ physical and mental well-being.
The Senior Club aims to help elders live happier, healthier, and more connected lives, while also promoting volunteerism and social engagement.
