Lotus Light Charity Society Celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival with Volunteers and Community

Every year during the Mid-Autumn Festival, a traditional time of reunion, the Lotus Light Charity Society prepares mooncakes and gifts for its volunteers. The society also hosts a meal and moon-viewing gathering, inviting volunteers and their families to celebrate the occasion together.

This year’s festival on October 6, 2025, was no exception. President Master Lian Tzi distributed mooncakes to volunteers and partner organizations, joined them for a communal dinner, and led the group on a leisurely walk along Vancouver’s Seawall to admire the moon.

This year, the charity also prepared 40 boxes of fresh apples, weighing over 2,000 pounds, for community seniors, low-income college student groups, local non-profit organizations, shelters, and its own volunteers. To further support the health and nutrition of these students, Lotus Light donated additional items including instant noodles, chocolate bars, cookies, and breakfast cereals. This initiative reflects the society’s deep compassion and commitment to fostering community bonds and appreciating its volunteers.

We welcome generous individuals and corporate sponsors to support our various charitable projects and initiatives through in-kind or monetary donations. For more information, please visit our website at www.vllcs.org, call us at 604-685-5548, or email llcsvancouver@gmail.com.
