Mayor Greg Robertson officially Proclaimed July 8th 2017 as Lotus Light Day

LLCS news release

May 24, 2017

The Lotus Light Charity Society’s Vancouver chapter is pleased to receive a proclamation from the City of Vancouver designating July 8, 2017 as “Lotus Light Charity Community Caring Day” and this special day also serves to mark the Charity’s 24th Anniversary.

This proclamation from Mayor Gregor Robertson at Vancouver City Hall follows the recognition bestowed upon the Lotus Light’s founding President, Master Lian Tzi as one of 20 recipients to receive the 2017 British Columbia Achievement Award for her outstanding contribution to community service since the establishment of Lotus Light Charity Society in 1993 in Vancouver.

Every July, Lotus Light Community Caring Day aims to bring together individuals, businesses, neighborhood groups and vital community service volunteer groups to raise awareness, provide resources and support to the poorest members of our local Downtown Eastside community (low-income families, men, women, children, seniors and homeless).
