2013 Annual LLCS Charity Gala at Floata Restaurant

On Dec 14, 2013, Lotus Light Charity Society (Vancouver) was hosting its 2013 Annual Charity at Floata Seafood Restaurant. This special annual fundraising event, Lotus Light had invited our committed community partners, like Vancouver City Councilor Dr. Kerry Jang and Councilor Tong Tang; Vancouver Food Bank Director of Development Mr. Jim Bindon; Strathcona Community Center Recreation Director Ron Suzuki; Canadian Medical Assistance Teams Vice Chair Kathy Harms, ACP; and Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office Vancouver, Dr. J. Huang; Senior Engineer Mr. Paul Pai and family; Dr. Floyd Wong, Director of the Lotus Light Charity Society Board of Directors and other members, and, guests come to participate and to celebrate the Charity’s 20th anniversary.

In the 2013 Charity Gala, a local Fashion designer, Ms. Shelley Klassen, the owner of Blushing Boutique and a group of models had come to support and put together a fashion show for the evening. The crowd was also entertained by three groups of professional dancers and soulful singers. Everyone enjoyed the program very much!

Features Entertainment Evening Event

All proceeds that were received for the evening will be used to support Lotus Light Charity Society’s social services and community programs to assist the low income individuals and single women who are troubled and abused, helping the low income families and single-parent families, and, also to help the Vancouver homelessness as well.

Our charity ongoing programs are Lotus Light Charity Annual Winter Charity program, Charity Annual Scholarship program, Strathcona Children Food Backpack, Rice Donation to Food Bank, Weekly Food Donation to local communities and shelters, E.S.L. program, Social Assistance for the Vancouver City Homeless Program for the Vancouver Downtown Eastside, Annual Income Tax Clinic services and provide regular Spiritual Service programs to community as well.

Gala VIP

Lotus Light Charity Society has also contributed to emergency disaster relief program to help the victims in our home country, Canada and the victims in other countries as well. We had provided medical supplies and medicine to Canadian Medical Assistance Teams to set-up onsite emergency clinics. Charity had also provided purified water system to Tsunami victims in the Japanese fishermen villagers, providing funds to rebuild schools and social structures in China, Indonesia, Taiwan and to Christian children in Haiti as well.

Lotus Light Charity Society has committed to contribute to communities and to societies at large because we follow and practice the teachings from the Buddhas, “love and compassion” to all sentient beings. It is a gift, and, it is a blessing to be able to help others, we encourage everyone to get involve and to grow as a community, working together as a group to assist and help others to have a better tomorrow. It is our charity motto, “Through learning and caring, we can help to build a better tomorrow!”
