On May 2, in a sunny late spring afternoon at Oppenheimer Park of the City of Vancouver Downtown East Side (DTES), Volunteers from Lotus Light Charity Society are serving hot meals to the homeless residents in this Canada “Poorest Postal Code” neighborhood. Red Star Restaurant Richmond Branch sponsored 200 Hot Meals for the event. Event attendants were greeted by the smiley young volunteers and enjoyed their meals.
Lotus Light Charity Society has established many programs to help the local community, such as sponsoring the Strathcona Community Children Food Safety Program (Nutrient Backpack), distributing winter garments and Care Package in Winter Charity Drive during the winter Season.
LLCS is extremely thankful to all corporate and individual sponsors for supporting our 2015 new monthly project where over 200 homeless line up at Oppenheimer Park to receive our hot meals! 100% donations are towards the hot meal program giving back to our DTES community.
