LLCS June Hot Meals Program for Homeless in Oppenheimer Park

LLCS June Hot Meals Program for Homeless in Oppenheimer Park

On June 11, 2016, for the sixth time so far this year, Lotus Light Charity Society had another successful food distribution event at Oppenheimer Park. Many of the homeless and low income recipients of our monthly food distribution event were already patiently lined up when volunteers arrived to distribute the food, having been accustomed to our regular events.

llc16jun01This time, thanks to the generosity of Gigi from Prince Seafood Restaurant (located at 2881 Grandview Hwy, Vancouver), recipients were able to choose between two delicious entrees: Fried Soya Sauce Chow Mein and Yang Chow Fried Rice. It was a cool, cloudy day, so many of our 200+ attendees also enjoyed a hot cup of  traditional Chinese tea.

This is the second time Prince Seafood Restaurant has sponsored a food distribution event for us, they sponsored once previously last year (LLCS Net News:LLCS Volunteers Distribute Nutrient Food to Homeless on July 4), and we would not have been able to do it without their generosity! Thanks to their generosity, the most vulnerable members of our community were able to again enjoy a much needed hot meal and drink.

If you would like to contribute to this ongoing project, please consider donating to help ensure LLCS can continue to have similar food distribution events in the future! Simply contact llcsvancouver@gmail.com or call 604-685-5548, or donate online through the link below. Thanks for everybody’s ongoing support!
