LLCS Chinese New Year Relief: Donate 2000 Gifts to First Nations Families

“I am very grateful to you” said Joy Chalmers, the program manager of the Pacific Association of First Nations Women (PAFNW) as she expressed her thanks to Lotus Light for the donation.

On Tuesday, February 2, 2021, large volumes of essential foods, including 200 lbs of rice, over 2000 pieces of box cereals, soup mix, express rice, bottle water, family size hand sanitizers and fabric masks, were donated to aboriginal organization PAFNW to help First Nations families, elders, foster children and youth.

On the same day, Lotus Light also sent out the February gift cards to Gladstone Secondary and John Oliver Secondary in the aid of impoverished high school students from low-income families. In addition, a big batch of cereals, snacks, fruits and frozen ham was delivered to the Strathcona Community Centre food program to help hundreds of needy families in the community.

As the Chinese New Year is approaching, Lotus Light is gearing up on supplies to help the needy residents and families in our community. Our goal is to provide needy families with grocery food, personal hygiene product, and personal protection products.

“Through learning and caring, we help to build a better tomorrow.” For more information on Lotus Light Charity Society’s various programs, please contact us by email at llcsvancouver@gmail.com, telephone at 604-685-5548, or online at http://vllcs.org.
