LLCS Launches Winter Charity Drive 2024

Lotus Light’s 2024 Annual Winter Charity Drive:

Winter Care Packages to Vancouver’s Street Homeless
Public Appeal for Donations

Lotus Light Charity Society is actively collecting donations of NEW blankets, comforters, clothing items (socks, scarves, gloves, toques, underwear, t-shirts, sweat shirts, pants, and jackets) and personal hygiene products for the homeless in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, some of whom are trying to return to the work force and secure affordable housing.

On Saturday, December 14, 2023 at 1:00pm, Lotus Light will present donations of winter care items to the representatives of the Vancouver Police Department’s Homeless Outreach Program, the BC Ambulance Service, and City of Vancouver’s Temporary Shelter Program. At 1:30pm, there will be a public distribution of winter care packages to the homeless in front of Lotus Light Charity Society, 347 E. Hastings Street, Vancouver.

“The greatest thing we can do is to help someone in need. Let’s work together to bring warmth and hope to help the homeless survive the cold this winter,” said Buddhist Master Lian Tzi, President of Lotus Light.

Any new surplus articles of clothing from retailers, suppliers, manufacturers and wholesalers are welcome. Please send cheque donations payable to “Lotus Light Charity Society” and reference “Winter Charity Drive” to: Lotus Light Charity 200-357 East Hasting St., Vancouver, BC V6A 1P3. Charity tax receipts will be issued for donations over $20. We can’t do it without your support and generosity!

This year’s campaign continues our annual distribution of emergency care packages in partnership with local shelters and family service agencies throughout the Lower Mainland.
