Highlights of Lotus Light Charity Society Community and Charitable Activities 2019:

Under the guidance of president Master Lian Tzi, 2019 has been another extraordinarily year for the Lotus Light Charity Society: from the successful “Lotus Light Community Caring Day” to the “Winter Charity Drive 2019” campaign, and to the monthly “Hotmeal for the Homeless” programs etc., the Charity actively involved in its humanitarian missions to help the needy.
Lotus Light Charity Society contribution list 2019:
For the past 26 years, Lotus Light Charity Society Vancouver held numerous projects to benefit local communities.
2019 LLCS (Vancouver) donated a total of 10,000 Lbs of rice in 2019 to the Greater Vancouver Society in the Annual Rice Donation program to support the low income families in our community.
2019 LLCS (Vancouver) continued the Feed Hot Meal to Homeless program to provide warm meal once a month through the 2019 whole year to the DTES Vancouver homeless community at Oppenheimer Park, or delivered to shelter when the park closed.
2019 LLCS Children Nutrient Backpack program continued supporting the inner city school children by donating 100 lbs grocery products weekly to the Strathcona Community Centre Food Security Program.
2019 LLCS (Vancouver) donated Christmas gifts toys, to inner city school Britannia Elementary School and Britannia Outreach School.
2019 LLCS Winter Charity Drive 2019 has donated 60,000 items valued over $100,000 to community partners including Vancouver Police Department Homeless Outreach program, BC Ambulance Services, BC Ministry of Social Development Integration Outreach Team, and inner city schools, homeless shelters and low income family service organizations, to help homeless and impoverished resident in lower mainland.
2019 LLCS National Scholarship program awarded 4 students who are outstanding in academic performance and actively involved in community volunteers works to pursue post-secondary study.
2019 LLCS Mu-Shu Lee Memorial Scholarship continue to support students in Social Works, Education, and Pharmacy in UBC. 5 outstanding students received awards in 2019.
2019 LLCS donated $1,000 to Red Cross, Canada to support the “Cyclone Ida Relief”.
2019 In the heart of the downtown eastside Strathcona Chinatown neighborhood, on July 6th on Jackson Avenue by the side of Oppenheimer Park, Lotus Light has held the third annual “Lotus Light Community Caring Day” to celebrate community caring. The event was officially proclaimed by the City of Vancouver to recognize the Lotus Light Charity Society’s 26th year anniversary of good work in the local community amongst a gathering crowd of over 1,000 people.
2019, Lotus Light Food Recovery Program has contributed large quantity of food donations to the local community, benefited thousands low income families senior, children and homeless.
2019 LLCS continued holding free ESL Classes and free Tax Return Filing Service to help new immigrants and low-income residents.
