The City of Vancouver has officially proclaimed Saturday, July 7, 2018, as Lotus Light Charity Community Caring Day to recognize the 25th anniversary of the charity’s service to the Downtown Eastside (DTES) community.
To mark the occasion, Lotus Light is organizing its second annual Lotus Light Community Caring Day event on July 7th, 2018, at Oppenheimer Park to celebrate community spirit in the heart of the DTES’s Strathcona Chinatown neighbourhood.
This event will bring together local residents, businesses, and community-service organizations to raise awareness and provide resources/support to the most vulnerable members of the local DTES community (low-income families, disadvantaged youth and children, seniors, and homeless members).
