LLCS Supports VPD Assertive Out Reach Team

Vancouver’s overnight temperature started dropping to below 10oC entering October. This may not be an issue for regular health people. but for those don’t know how to take care themselves, it may be a real problem. In a mid-October early morning, the Charity received an urgent request from the VPD Mental Health Team: they need a sleeping bag to help a homeless male.

Master Lian Tzi, the president of Lotus Light Charity Society Vancouver instructed the volunteers to help VPD Mental Health Team right the way.

Lotus Light Charity Society’s Annual Winter Charity Drive, now in its 20th year, distribute thousands of sleeping bags and winter care packages to the community’s impoverished and homeless, in partnership with the Homeless Outreach Program of Vancouver Police Department, BC Ambulance Service and other community service centers.  The Charity is launching the 2015 Lotus Light Winter Charity Drive this winter, to provide care package and non-perishable food to the homeless and low-income residents in the Lower-Mainland.

The Lotus Light Charity Society relies on financial and in-kind donations from individuals and corporate supporters to continue its campaign to distribute sleeping bags and emergency care packages in partnership with local shelters and family service agencies throughout the Lower Mainland, including the Vancouver Police Homeless Outreach Unit and the BC Ambulance Service.

We look forward to sharing with you this special moment of community caring. Together, we can indeed make a difference in the lives of some of our less fortunate residents.

Sponsor a “Care Package and Sleeping Bag Pack” (suggested donation $25)
