Yue Restaurant Sponsors the Hot Meals for the Homeless Program for the Third Year in a Row

On March 16, 2019, the LLCS Hot Meals for the Homeless Program provided free lunch to hundreds of homeless residents camped at Oppenheimer Park.

Mr. and Mrs. So from Yue Chinese Seafood Restaurant continued their support to the program for the third year in a row, to help relieve homeless residents of food insecurity. Mrs. So, who identifies as a Buddhist, expressed the urgent need to stop hunger among the DTES Vancouver community, the country’s most poverty-laden neighbourhood. Douglas, an employee of Golden Valley Chinese Seafood Restaurant, joined Yue Restaurant to support the LLCS Hot Meals for the Homeless program

Douglas commented on his first donation. “It’s my pleasure to donate fried vermicelli and fried rice to the LLCS program. I, myself, had made donations to support schools in China at the time when I owned my hotels and restaurants in China!”

The LLCS extends its sincere thanks to the owners of the Yue and Golden Valley Restaurants! We appreciate your generosity and support in making this program successful.

The LLCS will continue the monthly program to help hungry community members in need. If you would like to support our programs and make a monetary donation, please make the cheque payable to “Lotus Light Charity Society” and mail the cheque to the following address: Lotus Light Charity Society, #200 357 E.Hastings St, Vancouver BC V6A 1P3.
