LLCS Launch Lotus Light Covid-19 Emergency Food Hub to Help Those in Need in the Community

Thanks to the financial support from Canadian Government Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF) LLCS has launched a new Covid-19 Community Caring Drive initiate, Lotus Light Covid-19 Emergency Food Hub to help those in need in our community.


The Covid-19 pandemic has changed everybody’s life, and the vulnerable population in our community, the elderly, the unemployed, migrant workers, and many families and individuals are affected hardly by the pandemic. Since April 2020, Lotus Light Charity Society has launched many Covid-19 relief programs to help the people affected by the pandemic.

The Lotus Light Covid-19 Emergency Food Hub is a new emergency respond program by Lotus Light to help those marginal people in DTES community. The program will provide hampers and gift cards to supports single parents and high school students from low income families, and to provide free meals to help the homeless population in DTES community.

Lotus Light Charity Society Cares about Single Parents!

Lotus Light will be piloting a new project (from January 2021 to March 2021) geared to support single parents during this much challenging time! The program is made possible by supports from Canadian Government and our partner organization United Way Lower Mainland.

Lotus Light Charity Society (Vancouver) will select recipients who will receive gift cards to purchase groceries and necessities for the families.

We are now accepting applications for the month of January of 2021 by email only at: llcs.care@gmail.com.

The deadline for the application is: 9 pm Friday, December 11, 2020.

Please provide a brief description of you and your family and why you and your family should be selected, and most important: your address.

Due to the current situation, only selected recipients will be contacted and receive the gift cards through the regular postal system.

The Lotus Light Care program is a part of the Lotus Light Covid-19 Emergency Food Hub to provide hampers and gift cards to supports single parents and high school students from low income families, and to provide free meals to help the homeless population in DTES community.

Lotus Light Covid-19 Emergency Food Hub is a member of the United Way Food Hubs funded by the Government of Canada and administered by the United Way Lower Mainland.
