Lotus Light Children Assistance Plan Donates Holiday Gifts to Help Low-Income Families
As the year draws to a close, the Lotus Light Charity Society’s Children Assistance Plan is actively distributing gift cards, toys, and hampers to support low-income families in inner-city schools.
The Lotus Light Children Assistance Plan is a specialized program designed to aid children in low-income families. It provides quarterly grocery donations to assist inner-city school students from low-income families throughout the year. This winter season, Xpey̓ Elementary and Strathcona Elementary, both inner-city schools, received over 1,000 pounds of supplies. The donations included rice, canned beans and soup, pasta and tortillas, snack boxes, hand soap, toys, and more. Additionally, Lotus Light presented gift card donations during the annual Winter Charity Drive to bring extra Christmas cheer to students from low-income families.
“These toys are amazing for many families, women’s centers, single mom grocery hampers… This came just in time!”

In the spirit of spreading joy during the Christmas holiday, Lotus Light generously donated a substantial number of toys to the DTES community, facilitated by their community partner, DTES Distribution Hub.
“These toys are amazing for many families, women’s centers, single mom grocery hampers… This came just in time!” expressed Evan Reeks, Manager of Distribution Hub and Heart Tattoo Society, in a heartfelt thank-you letter to Lotus Light.
