Lotus Light Donates Groceries to Support Impoverished Children This Fall

The Lotus Light Charity Society’s Children Assistance Plan continues its commitment to supporting inner-city schools and helping students from low-income families. Many children from these families often come to school hungry, which affects their ability to focus and learn effectively.

During the spring and summer 2025, Lotus Light donated a large quantity of groceries and fresh vegetables to five inner-city schools. This fall, the organization has contributed over 600 pounds of grocery products to three schools — Xpey’ Elementary, Strathcona Elementary, and Grandview Elementary — benefiting more than 100 low-income families with school-aged children.

The donated groceries included rice, canned tuna, tuna snack kits with crackers, instant noodles, and fresh apples for school food programs.
“Thank you so much!” said Kelly, a Student Family Worker at Strathcona Elementary School, in appreciation of Lotus Light’s ongoing support.
