Lotus Light Charity Society Partner with Superstore to donate 6,000 pounds of grocery to help People in Need

Just recently, the Lotus Light Charity Society (LLCS) partnered with Superstore locations across metro Vancouver to donate over 6000 pounds of non-perishable grocery food items to low-income families and service organizations. Some items donated include canned food, dry food, and pasta.

Since the unexpected prolonging of the Covid-19 pandemic, greater numbers of low-income families have been facing issues of food insecurity. Last week, the LLCS donated 50 cases of premium yogurt to the Surrey Muslim Food Bank to be distributed to low-income families in the community.

On the same day, the LLCS donated more than 30 cases of fresh produce and fruit, canned pasta, and frozen meat to organizations serving low-income families and people in need. Some recipients included Coquitlam and Surrey low-income families, Powell Street Getaway Resources Centres, and the Strathcona Centre Food Hub.

The LLCS would like to thank corporate and individual sponsors, our volunteers, and our community partner organizations for their continued generosity and support during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Through learning and caring, we help to build a better tomorrow.” For more information about various LLCS programs, please contact us by email at llcsvancouver@gmail.com, by telephone at 604-685-5548, or online at http://vllcs.org. The LLCS is a registered charity: BN 14110-4893-RR0001.
