Vancouver, BC – The Vancouver branch (Llcs Vancouver) of the Lotus Light Charity Society is proud to announce the upcoming celebration of Grand Master Sheng Yen Lu’s 78th birthday, an occasion that will be marked by a significant act of charity. In honor of the occasion, the Charity has donated 38,000 pounds of Japanese rice to local organizations that work tirelessly to alleviate hunger and poverty in the Lower Mainland.
The Vancouver branch (LLCS Vancouver) of the Lotus Light Charity Society has long been committed to helping those in need, and this donation is just the latest example of their dedication to making a positive impact. The rice will be distributed to the Vancouver Food Bank, various Community Kitchens, and many Downtown Eastside organizations, all of which provide crucial services to the impoverished and homeless in the area.
“The Lotus Light Charity Society is deeply committed to supporting the communities in which we operate,” said Master Lian Tzi, President of the Vancouver’s Lotus Light Charity Society. “We are proud to honor Grand Master Sheng Yen Lu’s upcoming birthday in this way and to contribute to the important work being done by these organizations to help those in need.”
Grand Master Sheng Yen Lu is the founder of the Lotus Light Charity Society and also the founder and spiritual leader of the True Buddha School, a new religious movement with teachings from Buddhism & Taoism. He dedicates his life to promoting compassion, wisdom, and a deep sense of responsibility to others.
