Lotus Light EWR Team goes out to Distribute Care Items for the Needed

Even it’s already entering March, but the temperature in metro Vancouver still about 5 degree below normal, and the overnight temperature frequently dropped below freezing point. Lotus Light’s EWR team goes out again and organized another Emergency Weather Response (EWR) distribution event to help the homeless in the DTES community.

On March 2, 2024, Volunteers of Lotus Light’s EWR distribution team served hot Starbucks coffee from a large Cambro container, with milk, cream and sugar. The hot coffee were distributed with cocktail buns from St. Germain Bakery, Starbucks sandwiches, crackers, chips, mandarins, apples, and snacks. Volunteer also distributed Special Winter Care Packages containing fleece blanket, gloves, toques, scarves, socks, hygiene kits, disposable rain ponchos, and masks to those who needed the support.

Those who stopped by and received items were all well-mannered and grateful, and they voiced their praise and gratitude for Lotus Light’s continued support for the local community.
