Lotus Light’s 2024 Annual Winter Charity Drive:

Public Distribution of Winter Care Packages and Resource to Vancouver’s Street Homeless

On Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 1:00pm, Lotus Light will present donations of winter care items to the
representatives of the Vancouver Police Department’s Homeless Outreach Program, the BC Ambulance
Service, and City of Vancouver’s Temporary Shelter Program. At 1:30pm, there will be a public distribution
of winter care packages to the homeless in front of Lotus Light Charity Society, 347 E. Hastings Street,
Vancouver. Event attending VIP guests including MP Jenny Kwan, Hon. Terry Yung, Minister of State for
Community Safety and Integrated Services, MLA Vancouver-Yaletown, City Councillors Mr. Pete Fry, Mr
Lenny Zhou and Ms. Sarah Kirby-yung, and representatives of local community policing Centres and
Greater Vancouver Food Bank.

“The greatest thing we can do is to help someone in need. Let’s work together to bring warmth and
hope to help the homeless survive the cold this winter,” said Buddhist Master Lian Tzi, President of
Lotus Light.

now in its 29th year, relies on financial and in-kind donations from individuals and corporate supporters. This year’s campaign continues our annual distribution of emergency care packages in partnership with local shelters and family service agencies throughout the Lower Mainland.
