Lotus Light Donates 8,000 Pounds of Food to the Community for Mother’s Day

During early May of 2023, in celebration of Mother’s Day the Lotus Light Charity Society (LLCS) donated over 8,000 pounds of food items to various non-profit organizations serving low-income families including community policing centers, women’s societies, low-income senior caring organizations, neighborhood houses, inner-city schools, and community kitchens. The goods donated include vegetables, fruit, frozen meat, pasta, canned foods, bottled coffee, green tea, biscuits, and baked goods like bread, cake, cookies, etc.

As a part of LLCS’s children assistance plan, the Mother’s Day gifts given to the inner- city schools in East Vancouver in particular contained large quantities of multivitamins, probiotics, oatmeal, nutritional health foods, and $700 worth of PNE amusement park tickets. Upon receiving these donations, Janey Lee, a senior teacher from Thunderbird Elementary School happily exclaimed “these gifts are going to please both mothers and children, there’s plenty of food and entertainment for the kids, many thanks to the LLCS for such thoughtful Mother’s Day gifts!”
