LLCS February Hot Meals for Homeless Event
Following up on our event in January, Lotus Light Charity Society had another successful event on February 20, serving much needed hot meals to hundreds of homeless and low income individuals. The food was distributed by LLCS volunteers at Oppenheimer Park in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Event attendants had the option of choosing between four different meals: Yang Chow Fried Rice, Shanghai Pork Fried Noodles, Chicken Fried Vermicelli Thin Noodles, and Beef Fried Soy Sauce Rice Noodles with Bean Sprouts. Additionally, there was also chicken noodle soup, fruit juice, and fruit snacks.
LLCS would like to give a big thanks to Ken’s Chinese Restaurant (南軒中西美食, 1097 Kingsway, Vancouver), for their generous support in sponsoring our February event. Their help allowed us to ensure that the impoverished and less fortunate people of our community were able to enjoy a much needed hot meal!
