The Lotus Light Charity Society’s (LLCS) 2020 Winter Charity Drive Program has successfully distributed hundreds of new sleeping bags and care packages to the Vancouver Police Department’s (VPD) Head Office.
Every year, the VPD delivers and distributes these much-needed items to help the homeless survive the winter. The Covid-19 pandemic this year did not affect the spirit of giving; this year, Lotus Light worked even more diligently to donate and distribute these items.
The LLCS donated over 50,000 items including new sleeping bags, various winter garments, personal hygiene products, masks, and hampers of food valued at over $60,000 to community partners.
The Grandview Woodland Community Policing Centre (GWCPC) immediately received surprise gifts from their new VPD Neighbourhood Constable who had picked up and delivered the sleeping bag and care packages donated by the LLCS.
The GWCPC will now work diligently to deliver these items to homeless residents in the GWCPC neighbourhood.
The LLCS would like to thank corporate and individual sponsors, our volunteers, and our community partner organizations for their continued generosity and support during the Covid-19 pandemic.
