World Lotus Light Charity Society Report
On January 7, 2025, the two general presidents of the True Buddha School World Lotus Light Charity Society convened in a warm and harmonious gathering to shape a visionary blueprint for Lotus Light’s future. Central to their discussions was the design of a unified flag and logo, a project aimed at fostering greater solidarity among Lotus Light branches worldwide. The presidents expressed their hope that this initiative would unite the strength of Lotus Light branches across the globe, amplify the dissemination of its philosophy, and illuminate the world with Lotus Light’s enduring spirit.
A Legacy of Compassion and Wisdom
Founded on July 30, 1993, under the guidance of H. H. Living Buddha Lian-sheng, the Lotus Light Charity Society has been rooted in his profound wisdom and infinite compassion. From its humble beginnings, the society rapidly expanded, sowing seeds of love, compassion, and wisdom across the globe.
During the foundational years (1993–2007), Master Lian Tzi, the first general president, played a pivotal role in encouraging True Buddha School temples, chapters, and practice groups to join as Lotus Light branches. She also initiated the annual charity tradition of distributing rice on Living Buddha Lian-sheng’s birthday, a practice that continues to this day. This heartfelt event has become a cornerstone of Lotus Light’s mission, fostering connections between branches and the public, while exemplifying its spirit of compassion.
Unifying the Lotus Light Identity
The Vancouver Lotus Light Charity Society in Canada became the first branch to implement a unified flag and logo, thanks to Master Lian Tzi’s visionary leadership. This milestone not only strengthened the society’s visual identity but also inspired branches worldwide to adopt the same symbols, creating a cohesive and unified global presence.
Since 2017, Master Lian Yue, the third general president, has carried forward this legacy with unwavering dedication. Under her leadership, the Lotus Light Charity Society has forged stronger connections among global branches, fostering collaboration and mutual support on an international scale.
A New Era of Unity and Purpose
At the recent meeting, the two presidents reaffirmed the significance of the unified flag and logo. Beyond their role in enhancing visual recognition, these symbols represent the shared spirit and core values of Lotus Light. They embody the society’s commitment to unity, compassion, and collective growth, serving as a beacon for branches worldwide to join hands in advancing its mission.
As the unification process continues, the Lotus Light Charity Society remains steadfast in upholding the teachings of Living Buddha Lian-sheng. Guided by wisdom and compassion, the society is prepared to face future challenges and embrace new opportunities.
This meeting marked a historic moment in Lotus Light’s journey, setting the stage for even greater achievements and global impact. It is a testament to the society’s enduring vitality and dedication to spreading compassion and light throughout the world.
