Lotus Light EWA Response Team Delivers Hot Lunch Boxes to Homeless in DTES Community

On Wednesday Feb 23 , the coldest day of the recent Arctic air mass, municipalities across Metro Vancouver opened extra shelters and warm centers and issued warning of below-freezing temperatures across the region. With windchill, overnight temperatures feel near -10 to -15 C.

To help the vulnerable in our community to cope with the extreme cold dat, Lotus Light Extreme Weather Response Team delivered hot lunch boxes prepared by Lotus Light Emergency Kitchen to homeless living in the Crab Park Tent City.

“It’s wonderful! Thank you so much!” said coordinator homeless advocate Fiona.
