Lotus Light Donates Mother’s Day Gift Baskets to Inner-city School Students

In late April 2023, the volunteers at the Lotus Light Charity Society in Vancouver were hard at work, preparing one hundred special gift baskets for Mother’s Day. These baskets were intended for distribution at Strathcona Elementary and Britannia Secondary School, two Tier-one inner-city schools with a significant number of students from impoverished families. The primary aim was to demonstrate the community’s care and willingness to lend a helping hand to these mothers. Each gift basket contained a selection of dry goods, canned items, fruit juice, rice, and snacks, catering to the needs of families in need.

The coordinators of the schools’ neighborhood and family programs expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the generous deed carried out by Lotus Light. They were thrilled to distribute the gift baskets to the students from low-income families just in time for Mother’s Day.

Lotus Light’s Children Assistance Plan (CAP) remains dedicated to supporting students from disadvantaged families. The program’s success is made possible by the unwavering generosity and support of corporate and individual sponsors who invest in creating a brighter future.

Furthermore, the Lotus Light Charity Society is now gearing up for its annual community care event, the “Lotus Light Community Care Day,” scheduled to take place on July 22, 2023, in DTES Vancouver. This event aims to extend assistance to even more people in need by providing substantial quantities of supplies and food to the community. Lotus Light welcomes donations from food wholesalers, grocery stores, and anyone willing to lend a hand. Your generosity will undoubtedly have a tremendous positive impact on the community.
